Am I breaking the Law... ?

You are, if you are buying films on VHS or DVD from a shop, and screening them on a ship or an oil rig. It says so in the small print at the beginning of the film or TV programme. Take a look at what it says: "The copyright proprietor has licensed the film (including its soundtrack) comprised in this video cassette, for home use only. All other rights are reserved.

The definition of home use excludes the use of this video cassette at locations such as clubs, coaches, hospitals, hotels, oil rigs, prisons and schools. What all this means is that the film is for "domestic" use only, for watching in a home environment, ships are commercial concerns.

Hospitals, schools, prisons etc. all receive their entertainment from licensed suppliers. Companies like Walport have been licensed to provide video and DVD entertainment to ships and oil rigs.

Entertainment On-board provides you with legal entertainment media, selected from the major production companies - don't risk breaking the law !
